To coincide with the United Nations Ocean Conference to be held in Nice in June 2025, Université Côte d'Azur is inviting students and researchers from all over the world to take part in a special ‘Participatory Science for Ocean’ Hackathon.

Co-organised by Université Côte d'Azur, the Alliance française de Nice and the NGO Objectif Sciences International, this international event will take place alongside and within the UN Conference on the Ocean. It is a unique opportunity for all those who wish to become actively involved in protecting the seas and oceans through participatory science and innovation.

From 3 to 12 June 2025, every afternoon, participants will work on concrete solutions to preserve marine ecosystems. Researchers, entrepreneurs, committed citizens with a passion for the ocean: this hackathon offers you a space for exchange and collaboration to imagine a sustainable future.

Detailed description of the Hackathon

Through this event, the Université Côte d'Azur is reaffirming its commitment to the ecological transition and its social mission.
More than just an academic institution, it is positioning itself as a key player in raising awareness of climate and marine issues.
Organising this event involves a multi-disciplinary approach, drawing on skills in :
