EUR ELMI is launching a call for applications to fund two PhD theses (2025–2028) in economics, management, business administration, or sociology, aligned with its research areas or the “Economics of AI and Innovation” chair. The contract (€2,200 to €2,596/month) includes 40 hours of paid teaching per year.

The École Universitaire de Recherche en Économie et Management (EUR ELMI), with the support of IDEX UCAJedi and the SFRI program, is launching a call for applications to fund two doctoral theses over a three-year period, starting in October 2025.
These theses must be in line with one of the four scientific axes supported by EUR ELMI (see here : EUR ELMI research axes) or be linked to the Junior Professorship in "Economics of AI and Innovation", supported by EUR ELMI, GREDEG (UMR Université Côte d'Azur / CNRS) and SKEMA Business School.


Eligible profiles

This call is open to candidates :
in the process of completing a Master 2 or MSc in economics, management, business administration or sociology ;
or who have already started the first year of a PhD in these disciplines.
Applications may be submitted in French or English.


Scientific supervision

Candidates must identify a thesis supervisor attached to the EUR ELMI (permanent member of GREDEG or SKEMA Business School) and obtain his/her agreement to supervise their thesis before submitting their application.


Funding and affiliation conditions

Registration with the DESPEG Doctoral School (Law and Political, Economic and Management Sciences).
Research affiliation to EUR ELMI and GREDEG, or to a SKEMA Business School laboratory on the Sophia Antipolis campus.
Monthly funding of between €2,200 and €2,596 gross, for 36 months.
40 hours of teaching per year, paid in addition at €54 gross/hour, in French or English, in EUR ELMI courses.

It should contain :
  • The candidate's CV;
  • A cover letter;
  • A letter from the thesis supervisor, explaining the link between the proposed subject and a EUR ELMI research theme;
  • Master 1 and Master 2 transcripts (or equivalent);
  • A thesis proposal (10 pages maximum);
  • A copy of the Master (1 or 2) or MSc thesis.
